Mountain House High School's dedicated staff  has worked dilligently to provide students with cutting edge technology and courses that will prepare students for an advancing global marketplace.

What role does visual art serve in education? For students living in a rapidly changing world the arts teach vital modes of seeing, imagining, inventing and thinking. Einstein said that he thought in images. Daily interaction with visual art is where the skill of envisioning is most directly and intensively taught. Contemporary art forms dealing with social issues and concerns encourage self-reflection and empathy.  Adults of all ages establish a worldview through viewing, reflecting and critiquing art forms which exhibit cultural themes. Students in the visual art electives develop portfolios which demonstate a wide breadth of interests when applying for admissions into college.

I wish each student who enrolls in MHHS success in their academic endeavors, and I hope to meet many of them in the visual art classroom.
